Mrs. Kashmira Adil Kakalia is a qualified Special Educator, with twenty one years of experience, teaching students in need of Special Care. She teaches at a High School in Mumbai and caters to all age groups with Learning Difficulties, Social and Emotional Problems, Mentally Challenged, Gifted and Talented. She is qualified as a Mental Health Professional and works with students, adults, families, groups and communities with use of Narrative Therapy.
Kashmira has organized and conducted workshops and seminars for students, parents and teachers. (With a view to educate them about the disability and the management of children with special needs in the classroom/home). She is also an active committee member of the Poor Parsi students’ Helping Society of the Vachha and C. J.High School. She volunteers and assists Ahura support an NGO, working with children and adults with special needs, who are in the process of building a residential home for the differently abled adults.
She shares her knowledge by writing articles in school magazines and community based newspapers.
Her aim is to promote individuals’ social, emotional, intellectual and physical development, to facilitate them to impart knowledge, confidence, critical and analytical thinking skills to make them self-sufficient in life.
Along with all the above Kashmira enjoys cooking, she is innovative with her recipes which she pens down on a regular basis in a book, which she hopes will be published someday.
